Pour concevoir nos compléments alimentaires, nous  avons défini une liste de substances prohibées à partir de… trois autres listes.

Europe

La première est officielle : List of substances prohibited. Elle regroupe environ 1400 substances  interdites en Europe dans les produits cosmétiques et les compléments alimentaires. C’est la loi et nous la respectons, rien de surprenant. Mais une petite remarque tout de même…

Lorsque vous achetez des compléments alimentaires chez des commerçants extra-européens, vous prenez le risque de ramasser une de ces 1400 cochonneries. Ce qui est assez ennuyeux si vous devez prendre le produit pendant plusieurs mois.

La seconde liste est également officielle, mais elle ne concerne que les huiles essentielles. Une bonne dizaine contient effectivement un taux de molécules neurotoxiques (cétones monoterpéniques) bien trop élevé en cas d’ingestion.

Selon l’article D4211-13 du code de la Santé publique (août 2007), cette liste est réservée à la vente chez les pharmaciens uniquement :

  • Grande absinthe (artemisia absinthimu)
  • Petite absinthe (artemisia pontica)
  • Armoise commune (artemisia vulgaris)
  • Armoise blanche (artemisia arborescens)
  • Thuya (thuya plicata Donn)
  • Hysoppe (Hyssopus officinalis)
  • Sauge officinale (salvia officinalis)
  • Tanaise (Tanacetum vulgare)
  • Thuya (Thuya plicata)
  • Sassafras (sassafras albidum)
  • Saine (juniperus sabina)
  • Rue (ruta graveolens)
  • Chénopode vermifuge (chenopodium ambrosioides et anthelminticum)
  • Moutarde (brassica juncea)

Ce n’est pas fini. Les fabricants de boissons alcoolisées ont l’exclusivité sur trois huiles essentielles :

  • La Badiane (illicium verum)
  • Le fenouil (Foeniculum vulgare)
  • L’Anis (pimpinella anisum) (à vérifier, il semblerait que la loi se soit assouplie pour celle-ci).

Enfin, il en reste une dernière, interdite en Europe depuis le mois de mai 2018 : l’huile essentielle d’estragon.

Stop

Il existe une dernière liste, non officielle, qui circule aux Etats-Unis. Elle émane de plusieurs  fabricants de compléments alimentaires qui souhaitent concevoir des produits sains, sûrs et bénéfiques pour les consommateurs.

Parmi les ingrédients bannis (plusieurs centaines), on va retrouver par exemple le gluten, tous les parfums synthétiques et les colorants, les arachides et les noix, le soja, etc.

Nous soutenons ce mouvement auquel nous avons adhéré depuis le début de notre aventure. Cette liste de substances interdites est régulièrement mise à jour en fonction des nouvelles découvertes dans l’industrie et la communauté scientifique.
